Eagle watching in Canada

At this time of year, Canada sees many animal aggregations which provide nature lovers with wonderful viewing opportunities.
Bald Eagle photo SkyroIn our previous post we mentioned the great Polar Bear gathering around Churchill, Manitoba and here is another equally impressive spectacle. Each year, 3000-4000 Bald Eagles descend into the Squamish Valley on massive six to 8-foot wingspans; they gather at Brackendale to feast on Chum salmon which spawn there in the hundreds of thousands.

Brackendale is just one hour from Vancouver and 45 minutes from Whistler Mountain, both of which are pick-up points for guided tours.
