Surf and Kayak to London

The Ausies are sure getting serious about the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They have initiated a 'Surf & Kayak to London' Program, which is aimed at complementing the surf life-saving commitments of athletes and enhancing their surf ski performance while simultaneously preparing them for competition in sprint kayaking at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Open to all interested male and female athletes, aged 17 – 25 years, the program will operate on the Australian Gold Coast. There are 15 positions available in the squad to athletes who can base themselves on the Gold Coast for a minimum of two years from mid 2006.

A Talent Search testing and 'Come and Try Kayaking' day will be conducted for the ‘Surf & Kayak to London’ Program on the Gold Coast during May.

In a nationwide search, local State or Regional Institutes/Academies of Sport or Universities, will be providing testing opportunities for athletes unable to attend the Gold Coast testing session and there will be opportunities for interested athletes who cannot relocate to the Gold Coast.

The Australian National Talent Search Program is also looking for Mountain Bikers.
